Aims and Objective

Our main goal is to create equal opportunities among all of our students in academic and social life and to make our campus a barrier-free living space with physical, academic and social opportunities.

To achieve this goal, we cooperate with all other academic departments of our university in order to determine the difficulties that people with disabilities face or may face, to make the necessary arrangements and to raise awareness on disability in our school.

Our department is responsible for identifying the needs of individuals with disabilities in academic, administrative, physical, psychological and social areas, and planning, implementing, developing and evaluating the results of the work to be done in order to meet these needs. Our target is to provide unobstructed education on an unobstructed campus.

 

Our main tasks to achieve this goal;

  •          To raise awareness on "disability" by organizing trainings, seminars and conferences for academic and administrative staff as well as students
  •          To Provide special equipment and materials which can be used by the students with disabilities by cooperating with the departments of our school
  •         To provide support and consultancy to school staff about the accessibility to the classes and to determine the appropriate exam and course applications for the students with disabilities
  •          Identifying physical accessibility standards and needs in social, cultural and sportive activity areas of common use buildings, such as cafeteria, library, health center, classrooms, parking places
  •          To create a disabled student platform in order to improve communication among students
  •          Providing counselling services for physical, social and psychological problems of individuals
  •          Referring students to other institutions and organizations that provide psychological assistance if needed

     

    The necessary arrangements have been made in the classrooms and social areas considering the needs of our disabled students.
